OPI: Outrageous Neons

OPI just unveiled their new neon nail polishes, even though a few months ago neon nail polishes were illegal in the US for their toxic chemicals. But don't worry OPI had them FDA approved by using non toxic neon pigments, so they are safe to use.

OPI's neon nail polishes are a limited edition line of fluorescents that come in a mini pack called "Outrageous Neons". The set brings a neon-enhancing white base coat, a shiny top coat and four neon shades: Ridiculous Yellow, Formidably Orange, Riotously Pink and Seriously Purple. Available in July!

Check them out + watch OPI's video that shows us how to apply them

Is YSL changing it's name?

According to Women's Wear Daily YSL is changing it's name, an idea suggested by YSL's creative director, fashion designer Hedi Slimane who wants to "thrust Saint Laurent into a new modern era" and thinks that by removing the founders first name from the moniker is the way forward. So they are dropping the "Yves" and instead using "Paris" changing the name to Saint Laurent Paris. We thought this meant a change in the logo too but apparently the brand will keep it's iconic YSL logo. This unexpected change will take effect in their Spring '13 collection, shown in September.

Gisele Bundchen Intimates

About a year ago super model Gisele Bundchen bet on a old wish to launch her own lingerie brand, Gisele Bundchen Brazilian intimates, the proposal for a sexy and sophisticated lingerie, and it worked. The intimates line launched in partnership with Hope, responsible for the production, distribution and management of the brand.

The collection follows the main trends of fashion and technology, combining sensuality and sophistication to the most modern in fabrics such as silks, satins, and microfiber. We love the collection it's sexy, colorful and very detailed.

Books: Advertising in the 50's & 60's/ Smart Sells

If you are a fan of Mad Men you are going to like this new book by Taschen titled Mid-Century Ads: Advertising from the Mad Men Era with powerful images and slogans from the era, highlighting the clever marketing campaigns, when Americans were feeling optimistic.

The book is a compilation of thousands of images offering the best of American print advertising in the age of the "Big Idea". In the height of American consumerisms magazines were flooded with clever campaigns selling anything from girdles to guns. Bursting with fresh, crisp colors, these ads have been digitally mastered to look as bright and new as they day they first hit newsstands.

"A fascinating picture of the colorful capitalism that dominated the spirit of the 1950's and 60's"

Carine Roitfeld's New Magazine

Carine Roitfeld is releasing a new magazine named CR after her initials this September 2012. The fashion industry is really excited, and so are we, we can't wait to see what's in it and what topics she will be discussing in the magazine. As you all know she was editor in chief of Vogue Paris for 10 years, becoming one of the most famous editors in fashion.

The magazine will be released twice a year(biannual) and each issue will have it's own theme. The format of the magazine will be different from the rest of the magazines, it will only carry spreads and long format articles with no front of book content, looking more like a book with a cover and a title. The magazine is going to be available in a digital version for a $5 subscription free and in a print edition version for $20.
Get to know Carine Roitfeld in this mini documentary for W magazine done in 2011 called "The Client". This 13 minute documentary follows Rotifeld as she attends the couture shows as a "client", and later picks out her favorite outfits to be shoot in them for W's October 2011 Cover. Design: Cloud House

Ever thought a house could be built in a cloud form? We never thought that would be possible but McBride Charles Ryan architects just proved us wrong, they just finished the Cloud House an addition and renovation to a double fronted Edwardian house in Melbourne Australia.

The house was designed in three parts, a rectangular front, a square red part center of the home serving as the kitchen and finally the cloud shaped structure located in the back of the home. We named it "The Play Room" because it has a playful form and because thats where the family and friends eat and have fun. We love the form but mainly it's purpose, a room to have FUN!

Food & Fashion: A Matter Of Taste

Editorial photographer Fulvio Bonavia created a series of style accessories out of fruits, vegetables, nuts, prosciutto, pasta and more. To create these marvelous pictures he merged his passion for fashion with the love of food. Hungry already? The series includes a watermelon helmet, a raspberries purse, a prosciutto ring and a pasta belt. We love Bonavia's creativity and his take in this series, mixing fashion and food might be just the perfect combination. What do you think? Are they wearable?

Lanvin: Birds of Paradise

Lanvin's latest window display at their Rue du Faubourg St Honore Parisian store is pretty amazing, every outfit has a pair of wings attached on the back, looking like flying birds, no wonder the theme of the display is "Birds of Paradise". Every pair of wings was carefully thought for each outfit, depending on the color of the dress the color combination for the wings, making it look like part of the outfit. Lovely display!

Tory Burch: New Blog + Resort 2013

Tory Burch's new blog "The Tory Blog" has a new design + new features. This week they launched a blue note that features all forms of blue, from sculptures to surfers to summer table setting to streets style, all very inspiring and pretty.

While browsing Tory's blog we came across with a great post, a preview to her latest Resort 2013 Collection, all inspired in her latest Amalfi Coast trip. The predominant colors in the collection are soft whites, sea foam green, pink, purple and blue. This is how Tory describes the collection "rich fabrics in casual, effortless ways: a striped knit with a pair of brocade clam diggers in pale gold and green, a ladylike day dress in a seahorse print or geometric, or a swimsuit with a bustier detail. Our jewelry and accessories are laid back, too, from brocade brogues and star buckets bags with pallets to shell-and-crochet pendant and glitter walking sands". - Tory

We love this collection, the exotic colors, the mixed print fabrics even all her accessories are adorable, the chunky sandals, the woven bags, and tribal jewelry are all to die for. What an amazing collection . . .
