Jean Michel Cazabat / Spring-Summer 2013

Jean-Michel Cazabat’s Spring/Summer 2013 Collection is a celebration of ultra-feminine fashion created with today’s modern woman in mind. The style and design ethos of Jean-Mi, the New York based charismatic Frenchman behind the brand, continues to attract savvy shoppers to the brand…as well as many celebrities, who are looking for casual daytime footwear and sophisticated evening glamour.

This season’s collection draws on Africa for inspiration. From the tribal villages to the beaches, the sand and the sea, it captures the colors, textures and materials of this exotic land and beautiful ocean. From woven espadrilles with colorful stitching, to the use of natural materials: organic cork, rope, raffia, organic palm leaves and snake skin.

With an explosion of exotic summer colors: poppy, coral and gold; mixes of purples, blues and pinks, of yellow and greens; cool aqua and combinations of pastels accentuated in neon; and, Jean-Mi’s characteristic fine detailing and finishes, gives this spring/summer collection extra glamour and glitz.

Gucci / 1953 Horsebit Loafer

To celebrate the 60th birthday of its iconic loafer, Gucci has just dedicated an exhibition to its famous shoe at its permanent museum space, the Gucci Museo. We take a look at this fashion retrospective which delves into the heritage and history of this 1950s shoe.

In 1953 Gucci created a loafer entirely inspired by the equestrian lifestyle so beloved of its founder Aldo Gucci. The result was the iconic Horsebit shoe we know today: A simple leather loafer embellished with a metal horse bit. Sixty years later, and now Creative Director Frida Gianni has just dedicated an entire exhibit to the shoe with a new exhibit now showing at the Italian house’s official museum, Gucci Museo.
Along with original illustrations and never-before-seen archival images of famous faces such as a teenage Jodie Foster, Brad Pitt and Madonna sporting the shoe at the MTV Video Music Awards, the exhibit also tells the story of how the famous shoe went on display at New York’s famous Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1985.
Beyond Florence, the anniversary is not going forgotten. Window displays of Gucci stores worldwide will also be marking the anniversary with a vibrant showcase of the original 1953 unisex shoe, while online Gucci has unveiled a celebratory video and Facebook quiz that will guide shoppers towards finding the perfect loafer to suit their rebellious, romantic, jet-set or urban sophisticate personalities.
The Horsebit exhibition at Gucci Museo began February 19 and is set to run through November 2013.

Chanel / La Montre Premiere

Chanel proves once again that classics never go out of style—especially ones stamped with that iconic "CC" logo. The luxury brand has just released an interactive campaign to present its re-imagined Premiere watch style.

The watches (there are 12 in total that fall under this line) are similar to the original, which launched in 1987 as Chanel's first time piece. The new version is slightly larger — the case is 28 millimeters instead of 26 millimeters — and you can adjust the chain bracelet yourself at home.

The Premiere watch will be available in April at Chanel boutiques for $4,300 to $28,500 USD.
