Nine of France's most luxurious brands, from Hermes to Boucheron have come together to create a gift to celebrate Lacoste's 80th anniversary. The collection, although unavailable to buy, will go on display from June 10 until June 15th Colette in Paris.
Each present, as Lacoste describes them, embodies them, embodies, the spirit of the heritage tennis brand, as well as the collaborator's signature aesthetic. Hermes has created a crocodile skin suitcase bag, with a special space for a tennis racket, while jewellery label Boucheron has designed two exclusive emerald and diamond crocodile-shaped brooches. Baccarat has made a crystal vase in Lacoste's signature green and gourmet food company, Fauchon has baked high-fashion eclairs that come covered in chococlate shells to recreate the texture of pique polo shirts. If only every birthday came with the same luxurious accoutrements.
The sparkling water brand celebrates its 150th anniversary with a taste of Pop Art chic
Framed Pop artist and white-haired icon Andy Warhol featured the sparkling water brand Perrier in a series of screen prints in the 1980's. Now Perrier has flipped the script by introducing Warhol-inspired artwork on four limited-edition bottles in partnership with the Andy Warhol Foundation.
Perrier marks its 150th anniversary this year, which happens to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the 40+ Perrier prints that Warhol created in 1983. "Warhol's creativity and eccentricity are a great fit with Perrier's brand personality, so this was a natural way to bring the two together." said Gauther Gav. Perrier International Brands Group Marketing Mangaer, according to Perrier's press release.
In addition to several different label designs, some bottles will also incorporate quotes from Warhol, long known for his bon mots. "Pop Art is for everyone," he once said. Now even those who can't shell out millions for an original Warhol print can take home a piece of bubbly postmodern chic.
With the help of his stylist mom, this little boy shows off his sophisticated fashion sense to score of Instagram followers.
It all started when his mom, Luisa Fernanda Espinosa — a freelance stylist who has contributed to Harper’s Bazaar Mexico and Latin America — started posting pics of Alonso on her Instagram account last year (@luisafere, which boasts over 133,000 followers and she has recently set to private). Every morning before school, she helps her son pick out outfits in his personal walk-in closet, though he’s the chief stylist. “I’ll help him coordinate outfits so that they make sense, but mostly it’s him,” she recently told The Cut. Luisa adores Opening Ceremony and can’t live without her Alexander Wang T-shirts, so we can only imagine how delighted she is to share her passion with the little one: There are plenty of pics of them happily posing together on Instagram.
Alonso and his family — which also includes his dad, the owner and CEO of a private equity firm — have lived in Laguna Beach, Calif., for two years, where they moved from Monterrey, Mexico. By all accounts, mom and dad haven’t let the adoration go to Alonso’s head: While he seems to like taking “selfies” and there’s a sense of fun around his pics, he also tends to get shy in front of fans, like any five-year-old would. And Luisa’s not quite sure whether Alonso’s got the fashion world figured out yet: “I don’t think he really notices he’s fashion forward. He’s too young.”
Alonso was “discovered” by celebrity stylist Ugo Mozie last year, when he tweeted “Style icon. Get familiar and take notes” along with pictures of Alonso decked out in Tom Ford, Gucci and AllSaints. “What first caught my eye about him was his confidence,” Mozie told The Cut. “His clothes were exceptionally tailored, drop-crotch pants, his hand in his pocket — that stood out to me.”
