Marc Jacobs: Beauty Collection

Designer Marc Jacobs has launched a highly anticipated namesake beauty line exclusive to Sephora.

The collection, containing an assortment of 16 complexion and color cosmetics, debuted on August 9th at Sephora stores and online and select Marc Jacobs stores.

The Marc Jacobs Beauty line range from foundations and concealers to lip and eye products and nail polish, as well as makeup brushes.

"as with his fashion, Marc's rule-breaking creativity is at the heart of his makeup vision," Sephora said in a press release. "For Marc, it's about the spirit of  youth, confidence and experimentation."

Jacobs sais his inspiration for the collection stems from the spirit of "The Girl" and her makeup ritual.

"I think the idea of transforming into this person you want to be a lot of fun," he said in the release. "It's this idea of a  young women enjoying creating her look, getting ready for her night out, or her night after her night out."

According to Sephora's Facebook page, Jacobs was the first customer at the company's SoHo store when the line debuted Friday.

Sephora said Jacobs' personal favorited from the collection are Boy Tested. Girl Approved. Lop Lock Moisture Balm, Brow Tamer Grooming Gel and the Remedy Concealer Pen.

Sarah Jessica Parker to Launch Shoe Collection

'Sex and the City' actress Sarah Jessica Parker will unveil an eponymous shoe collection in 2014, created in collaboration with the CEO of Manolo Blahnik.'
Sarah Jessica Parker is synonymous with shoes, particularly sky-high designer ones, thanks to her definitive role as Manolo-loving Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City - it comes as little surprise then that she's in the process of creating her own line of footwear.

In yet another parallel to her SATC character, the actress's business partner in the venture is Manolo Blahnik CEO George Malkemus. Though shoes will be the focal point of the brand, which will take her initials as its name, there will also be bags and "a few" trench coats available when it goes on sale exclusively at US department store Nordstrom in 2014.

"In a silly way, I think it's what people have expected of me most because of Carrie Bradshaw," Parker admitted to Vogue.com. "It's sort of soup to nuts. You put on a shoe and you put on a coat and you wear a bag and, on the outside, when you're walking down the street, they really can tell the same story about yourself," she continued. But how will SJP be any different to the multitude of accessories labels already on the market? "We're putting new colours together that people don't typically do, just beautiful combinations that you wish existed in your closet," she says. "And in terms of bags, thinking about that period of the seventies into the eighties, what those women were carrying, taking away the bells and the whistles and hardware and really making it about the bag." So there you go.

Prices will start at $200 for flats and single-sole pumps, while bags will retail for under $700, but there's no word on whether the collection will be available over here in the UK yet.
It's not Parker's first flirtation with the design world. She acted as president and chief creative officer of Halston Heritage for a year and half, but left after a number of changes saw the business being taken in a direction she didn't want to pursue.
